RTM Homes
Moveable
homes and cottages come by many names: modular homes, prefab
homes, panelized houses, cabin manufacturer to
name a few. Rtm homes are timber built homes which are built and shipped as
one unit, using the same or stronger material than traditional homes.
Holmgren Homes can build the home or cottage of your dreams, either as an on
site or rtm home build.
To clarify further, timber frame houses normally refer to houses constructed
with larger wood beams. In contrast, our rtm homes are built
like normal timber houses or “stick built houses”, and are finished to the
same standard as your normal house, and delivered as a full unit by truck to
your building site. When you order an RTM house you will discover that it
provides you with the same quality as a normal house and an rtm house has
numerous benefits. We offer a number of plans for houses that can be built
either as an rtm home or on-site build. Remember, we can also design a
custom plan just for you, and work with our design team to build the home of
your dreams. Our rtm homes are quality built with the same products as a
normal home, so you can rest assured that with Holmgren Homes you are
getting a quality product.
So whether you are looking for a modular home, prefab houses, or
manufactured housing or cabins we invite you to consider our rtm homes. We
build the rtm homes at our site in Sprague, Manitoba, only 20 minutes from
Warroad and Roseau, Minnesota.

Ready to Move Homes (RTM'S) at Holmgren Homes,
Manitoba, Canada
RTM Ready to move homes are typically built to be stronger houses
than houses built "on-site". They are built stronger in order to withstand
being transported from the manufacturer site to the foundation site and for
positioning correctly onto the foundation. For example, a typical "on-site"
built house has only drywall on its ceilings whereas our ready to move
homes have first a layer of OSB and then a layer of drywall on the
ceilings throughout the house. As well, we have a layer of OSB and then a
layer of drywall on the exterior walls.
These
"overbuilt" features of our ready to move homes serve your home well
past the rigors of its transport to your site since they are forever part of
your homes' structural integrity. They also provide added security in
withstanding any of nature's unforeseen challenges. So whether we are
building a ready to move rtm home for you, a ready to move cottage,
or a manufactured cabin, you can rest assured that you're receiving a high
quality of service.
Our ready to move homes are subject to constant inspection both by
the manufacturer as well as by third party inspection, so you are assured
that all building code requirements are met or exceeded.
You can be moved into your home much sooner with a ready a rtm home than you can with an "on-site" home. First, rtm homes can be built
while you erect your foundation, whereas with "on-site" construction the
house cannot be started until the foundation has been completed and set.
Secondly, all the tools and materials are readily available at our
manufacturing site whereas costly delays in not having the right material or
tool when it is needed are often an ongoing struggle with "on-site"
construction.
